Minister of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure Aleksandra Sofronijević met today with a World Bank delegation led by Country Director for the Western Balkans Xiaoqing Yu to discuss continued cooperation on project implementation, primarily in the area of railway modernisation.

Sofronijević pointed out that Serbia and the World Bank have had a long-standing and successful partnership.
She emphasised that the government is strongly committed to maintaining the upward trend of growth and the increased pace of project implementation in the coming period.
The Minister underlined the importance of modernising Serbia’s railway infrastructure, adding that cooperation with the World Bank on the LIID project is of great importance for the country.
Xiaoqing Yu stated that the World Bank is committed to continuing its cooperation with Serbia on joint projects, particularly in the field of transport.
