Milosavljevic warned that one woman dies from uterus cancer every day in Serbia and these preventive health centres will help reveal people’s illnesses at an early stage. He also noted that the number of smokers must be reduced while tobacco smoke must be eradicated from office areas.
The centre in Pirot is part of the project "Improvement of Preventive Health Services in Serbia", being implemented jointly by the Serbian Ministry of Health and the European Agency for Reconstruction (EAR).
The project has included 25 regional health centres across Serbia.
Apart from Milosavljevic, the opening in Pirot was attended by Brian Potter and Bojana Milosevic from consultancy EPOS.
