Prime Minister Professor Đuro Macut, MD, DSc, stated today during a visit to the Kumodraž-1 Health Station, a branch of the Voždovac Health Centre, that the introduction of the e-Sick Leave system represents a step towards transforming the healthcare system and raising the level of healthcare services.

Macut, who visited the facility together with Minister of Health Zlatibor Lončar and Director of the Office for Information Technologies and eGovernment Mihailo Jovanović in order to see in practice how the e-Sick Leave system is being implemented, underlined that the application of this system facilitates everyone’s work.
This is a very good indicator of how the work of public administration could be improved. Healthcare is one of the main pillars of the social segment of public administration and is a good indicator when changes are being introduced, the Prime Minister stated.
The Prime Minister noted that the Ministry of Health is essential to the entire project, expressing gratitude to the Office for IT and eGovernment for its many years of work and for recognising the benefits of such systems.
According to him, the system still needs to become fully operational, and as of April, calculations and payments related to temporary incapacity for work, that is, sick leave, will also begin.
I hope that this year we will establish a review of the system to see what can be further improved, Macut said, adding that the introduction of the system is an excellent indicator of how much can be achieved through the digitalisation of public administration.
