Đurić remarked that today’s meeting was an excellent opportunity for an in-depth discussion on possibilities to intensify Serbia’s relations with these two Caribbean countries.
He stated that Serbia is clearly committed to strengthening political dialogue, parliamentary cooperation and collaboration in all areas of mutual interest with these nations.
The Minister emphasised that Serbia attaches great importance to the Latin America and Caribbean region and is dedicated to enhancing bilateral relations with countries in that part of the world, recalling Serbia’s participation in regional organisations active in the region.
The meeting paid particular attention to opportunities for boosting cooperation in the field of economy, including a review of the legal and contractual framework between Serbia and the two countries.
Education was also discussed, and Đurić expressed Serbia’s pleasure that students from Saint Kitts and Nevis and Saint Lucia are participating in the World in Serbia programme, encouraging more young people from these countries to apply and come to study in Serbia.
The Minister expressed gratitude to Saint Lucia for confirming its participation in Specialised Expo 2027 Belgrade, voicing hope that Saint Kitts and Nevis would soon reach such a decision.
