Minister of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure Aleksandra Sofronijević attended today the signing of the Air Transport Agreement between Serbia and Georgia, which establishes direct flights between Belgrade and Tbilisi.
Serbian national airline Air Serbia’s inaugural flight on the route is scheduled to depart Belgrade for Tbilisi on 15 June.
Sofronijević emphasised that Serbia aspires to be a country of bridges – not only in terms of infrastructure, but also politically, economically and culturally – stating that this route is yet another example of stability and cooperation in practice.
The Air Transport Agreement between the Government of Serbia and the Government of Georgia, along with the Memorandum of Understanding between the civil aviation authorities of the two countries, was signed by Director of Serbia’s Civil Aviation Directorate Mirjana Čizmarov and Director of the Georgian Civil Aviation Agency Givi Davitashvili.
