Mesarović emphasised that Serbia's priorities are preserving the existing economic environment, increasing the number of jobs, strengthening domestic industry and raising its capacities, as well as further attracting foreign direct investment.
She emphasised that Serbia, thanks to the responsible economic policy of the state, is on the right path to further economic consolidation, strengthening and development of the economy and that it will continue to be one of the fastest growing economies in Europe in the coming period, despite challenges both domestically and globally.
The Deputy Prime Minister particularly highlighted the importance of foreign direct investment, which reached five billion euros last year, stating that global companies have recognised Serbia as a country with a favourable business environment.
Mesarović stated that Serbia is fighting to attract new foreign investment, strengthen the domestic economy, create new jobs, and become the fastest growing economy in Europe.
Special attention is paid to small and medium-sized enterprises and entrepreneurship in our country, she said, adding that the relevant ministry allocates significant grants to this sector of the economy with the aim of stimulating work, production and employment.
In the previous year, a total of RSD 5.2 billion were allocated for 1,200 legal entities and entrepreneurs, the Deputy Prime Minister stated.
The Ministry of Economy continues to implement reforms that contribute to improving the investment climate, supporting entrepreneurship and further strengthening the economy, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy underlined.
