The Serbian Statistics Office stated today that average retail prices and prices of services in Serbia in June have remained unchanged compared to the previous month – the prices of goods are down by 0.1%, and prices of services are up by 0.2%, while compared to December 2005 retail prices have risen by 5.7%.
The average cost of living in June compared to May has remained the same, and has increased by 5.9% against December 2005. The discrepancy between the increase in the index of retail prices and the cost of living index was due to different impacts of growth in prices for individual items on the overall index.
Prices of agricultural products fell by 1.9%. The price of eggs has fallen while the price of fish has gone up. The changes in prices of eggs and fish are customary for this period.
The costs of industrial foodstuffs went up by 0.9% on average, in which sector an insignificant variation of prices was observed.
The prices of beverages have gone up by 1%.
Tobacco prices have remained unchanged.
The prices of non-food industrial products fell by 0.6% on average. This was mostly influenced by decreased prices of oil derivatives, whereas prices of other products did not see a significant increase.
The prices of services increased by 0.2% on average.
