The Coordinating Centre for Kosovo-Metohija stated yesterday that head of the Economic Team for Kosovo-Metohija Nenad Popovic and coordinator of the Team for Privatisation Bozidar Cerovic will participate in a two-day conference called "Economic and social development of Kosovo - challenge of political stability," that begins today in Ljubljana.
The position of the economic team that will be presented to participants in the conference is that the main obstacles to economic development of Kosovo are violation of human rights, non-existence of freedom of movement, jeopardised safety of Serbs and other non-Albanians, organised crime and an enormous level of corruption, the statement reads.
The meeting will be held as a panel discussion on the economic situation and guidelines for the economic recovery of Kosovo-Metohija and speakers will be representatives of the international community, the Serbian government's economic team and ethnic-Albanians from Kosovo.
The conference will be held under the auspices of the Austrian-French Centre for Economic Accession in Europe and the French International Relations Institute. Representatives of a large number of EU institutions, dealing with development issues and Euro-Atlantic and regional integrations, have also announced their participation.
