Head of the economic team for Kosovo-Metohija and the south of Serbia Nenad Popovic said last night in Tirana that stabilisation of the security situation in Kosovo-Metohija will contribute to improving conditions for the economic progress of the whole region.

Popovic spoke with Albanian Minister of Defence Fatmir Mediu yesterday in Tirana. The two officials agreed that finding a solution to the security situation in Kosovo-Metohija will improve the development in the region in a number of aspects, which will have as a result the development of this part of Europe.
Popovic is Serbian representative at the Crans Montana Forum which takes place in the Albanian capital on May 12 and 13. The conference is titled “Albania Cross Road of East-West Europe - the Investment Framework.”
Last night, Popovic also met with Albanian Minister of Finance Ridvan Bode on ways of improving the economic cooperation between Serbia and Albania. The Serbian official said that Serbian companies are interested in exploiting ore mines in Albania, cooperation in the energy sector and oil industry as well as construction.
The head of the economic team for Kosovo-Metohija and the south of Serbia will address the conference today afternoon when he will speak about cooperation in the energy sector of countries in the region.
Later today, Popovic is expected to continue talks with Albanian ministers.
