Reconstruction of "Juzni Banat" health centre in Pancevo gets under way

State Secretary of the Serbian Ministry of Health Nevena Karanovic visited today the health centre "Juzni Banat" in Pancevo, where reconstruction works worth €2.65 million have begun.
Reconstruction of the Pancevo health centre is part of the Ministry of Health's project of urgent renovation of medical centres in Serbia, financed through a €50 million loan of the European Investment Bank, which includes 20 hospitals across Serbia and the Torlak Institute. The aim of the project is to secure higher standards and equal treatment for all citizens of Serbia.
Director of "Juzni Banat" Jasmina Berginc said that owing to the reconstruction works which will be completed in nine months, the hospital will get a new boiler room, a fully equipped surgery and an internal medicine ward, a part of a children's ward, new rooms for the pathology department, as well as a hospital pharmacy.
Berginc added that as part of the Ministry's project, three ultrasound devices have already been purchased for Pancevo hospital, and the provision of other necessary equipment is planned.
