Following a visit to the Ladjevci airport, Ilic said that the first phase of reconstruction works will cost some €3.5 million and will comprise the construction of a control tower and the establishment of flight control. In the beginning the flights will be conducted by smaller planes.
He also said that the second phase of reconstruction, in which €20 million will be invested, will include expansion of the runway from 35 to 2,300 metres, which will allow the landing of larger passenger and cargo planes.
Ilic stressed that the realisation of this project is in the interest of the entire region, and recalled that activities for the rehabilitation of Kragujevac-Ravni Gaj, Kraljevo-Kopaonik and Preljina-Ladjevci roads have either been completed or are in progress, which should contribute to complete infrastructural development of this area.
