Serbian Minister of Health Tomica Milosavljevic visited today the Mother and Child Health Care Institute Vukan Cupic, on the occasion of the opening of reconstructed surgery wards when new equipment for laparoscopy and echocardiography was also put into operation.
Milosavljevic said on the occasion that institutions where children receive medical treatment take the highest place on the priority list of the Ministry of Health. He added that “there is nothing more natural than the government and the Ministry of Health recgonising their major interest in the health of children,” because of this the integral concern for mother and child health care should be their commitment.
The reconstruction of the surgery wards and the new equipment became possible through a project of the Ministry of Health for the urgent renovation of health institutions in Serbia, which is being financed with a loan worth €50 million from the European Investment Bank.
Director of the institute Dragutin Trickovic said that with the opening of the renovated wards a new developmental phase has begun which will be continued by further reconstruction and modernisation, so that complete mother and child health care can be provided in one place.
