Jocic signs Convention for Police Cooperation for South Eastern Europe

Serbian Minister of Interior Dragan Jocic signed today in Vienna the Convention for Police Cooperation for South Eastern Europe.
Jocic said on the occasion that this convention represents one of the important instruments for police cooperation, and that the signing of this document has made the cooperation concrete, but at the same time it makes it necessary to have a new understanding of police as a global institution.
He explained that this document not only envisages intensive cooperation, but also the appointment of liaison officers, training, and certain instruments that did not exist before. At the same time it also allows integration and consolidates activities of the police of south eastern European countries
The Minister voiced hope that liberalisation of visa regime by the EU for countries of the West Balkans will take place soon.
