In a statement with news agency Tanjug, Djuric also rejected the report of Slovene International Institute for Middle-East and Balkan Studies (IFIMES) that the two officials met in Rome and stressed that the information that Prime Minister Kostunica supported Montenegro’s independence is nonsense.
He stressed that the idea of unity of Serbia-Montenegro is superior to efforts to break the state and to establish an international border between Serbia and Montenegro.
Djuric said that Serbia, like so many times in the past, is again offering Montenegro a hand of brotherhood to live in a common state.
I am sure that someone from the International Institute in Ljubljana had a sense of humour when making up the news that Vojislav Kostunica and Milo Djukanovic met in Rome and that Kostunica backed Montenegro’s independence, Djuric stressed and added that the credibility of this institute is now questioned when it can come up with information like this.
