The signing of the protocol was attended by European Enlargement Commissioner Olli Rehn, representatives of other EU institutions, and representatives of other protocol signatory countries in the region, including Croatia, Macedonia, Albania and Bosnia-Herzegovina.
The aim of creating a regional school is to form a mechanism for improving training and education in public administration in countries of the West Balkans, which is necessary in the process of further EU integration.
Olli Rehn said that the signing of the protocol is “one more proof of the concrete progress in fulfilling the Thessaloniki Agenda” on regional cooperation and European perspectives of the West Balkans.
Labus also met today in Brussels with director of the Directorate for the Western Balkans Reinhard Priebe.
The Serbian delegation led by the Deputy Prime Minister consisted of the Director of the EU Integration Office Tanja Miscevic and State Secretary in the Serbian Ministry of Public Administration and Local Self-Government Vesna Ilic-Prelic.
