Miscevic explained that only after the EU mission arrives to Belgrade to present a new fund for financial assistance to candidates and potential candidates for EU membership will Serbia-Montenegro know on how much money from Brussels it can count in the period until 2012.
Miscevic told Politika daily that European experts are expected to arrive to Belgrade on May 10 or 11 at the latest.
According to Miscevic, as of 2007 Brussels will introduce significant changes in the way in which it will set aside assistance for countries of southeastern Europe. The new method is called the Instrument of Pre-Accession Assistance (IPA) and it will be a combination, and in some cases even a substitute for the package of individual assistance programmes that have been applied so far.
Miscevic said that the IPA fund will total some €10 billion, which is almost €3 billion less than the sum proposed by the European Commission.
