Minister of Foreign Affairs Marko Đurić said today that Italy shows a high degree of understanding for our regional problems, as well as a willingness to engage in solving them in a positive way, while taking into account Serbian interests.
Addressing journalists in Rome, summarising his two-day official visit to Italy, Đurić pointed out that Italy supports Serbia in terms of European integration and that the fruits of cooperation between the two countries can be seen.
He noted that Serbia and Italy are celebrating 145 years of diplomatic relations and 15 years of strategic partnership this year.
Đurić pointed out the tragic position of Serbs in Kosovo and Metohija, who were practically pushed out of all institutions, from the police, from the judiciary, and that they found themselves in a situation where they had mayors imposed on them by Kurti's regime.
At the same time, the Minister said that the Serbian economy is currently developing in cooperation with Italy, which is the second largest investor from Europe.
We are building a strong political foothold in Italy in order to ensure that in Europe, when it comes to European integration, but also to what concerns us in our region, we have that country on our side, Đurić stated and explained that it is a matter of old alliance.
