Serbian Minister of Capital Investment Velimir Ilic promised on his visit to flooded areas in Veliko Gradiste that the Serbian government will help repair this area and compensate for the complete damage.
Ilic commended the “defenders” of Veliko Gradiste who did everything so as to prevent catastrophic floods.
The Minister also visited Golubac and said that the government will provide necessary assistance to this municipality. He also praised the flood defence strategy used in Golubac.
The government approved a one-time assistance sum of 10 million dinars to Veliko Gradiste while Golubac received 7 million dinars in aid, the Minister said.
The level of the Danube near Golubac and Veliko Gradiste is declining. The situation in Veliko Gradiste and Golubac is under control and the wave from Vojvodina should cause no major water level increase.
The Minister will also visit flooded areas in Gornji Milanovac and Majdanpek by the end of the day.
