Prime Minister Miloš Vučević spoke today with Minister of Foreign Affairs of Japan Yōko Kamikawa, about bilateral relations, economic cooperation and partnership in the field of joint projects.
Vučević stated that the bilateral economic cooperation between Serbia and Japan is gaining more and more intensity, and emphasised that he is particularly pleased by the fact that Japanese investors have recognised the advantages of doing business in Serbia, which is today a regional leader in innovative technologies and the field of artificial intelligence.
The Prime Minister invited Japanese investors to invest in the Serbian market, pointing out that Serbia is a country with an excellent business climate, especially for investments in the field of information technology.
Vučević said that he sees great potential in cooperation with Japan in the field of environmental protection, because that country can share knowledge and experience in this field.
He pointed out that he is very satisfied with the fact that both countries are interested in cooperation in the construction and financing of RHE Bistrica and in other energy projects, as well as in projects in the field of environmental protection.
Serbia's goal is to preserve peace and stability in the region, the Prime Minister said, and expressed concern about the situation in Kosovo and Metohija, underlining that it is necessary to put pressure on Priština in order to continue the dialogue and stop the terror being perpetrated against the Serbian people in the southern province.
Minister Kamikawa pointed out that Serbia is an important partner of Japan in this part of the world.
We are entering a period of even more intensive development of economic cooperation between the two countries, said Kamikawa and specified that 34 Japanese companies are operating successfully in Serbia.
