In an open and substantive conversation, Prime Minister Macut emphasised that the Republic of Serbia consistently pursues a responsible and independent policy, based on respect for international law, the United Nations Charter and the principle of territorial integrity of states.
The Prime Minister stressed that Serbia remains firmly committed to peace and believes that lasting solutions can be achieved exclusively through dialogue and diplomacy.
Prime Minister Macut also noted that the Republic of Serbia is continuously providing humanitarian aid to the civilian population in Ukraine, thereby confirming its solidarity with the people affected by the conflict and its determination to contribute, in accordance with its capabilities, to mitigating its consequences.
As a country that understands the value of peace, Serbia will always support every serious effort that leads to an end to the conflict, reducing suffering and creating conditions for a stable and secure future. Serbia’s policy is clear and principled – respect for international law, preserving peace and stability and open dialogue with all partners, Prime Minister Macut said.
The interlocutors also discussed the further development of bilateral relations between Serbia and Ukraine.
Prime Minister Macut also stressed the importance of continuing direct political dialogue and improving cooperation in areas of common interest.
The Prime Minister said that Serbia supports Ukraine’s European path and pointed out Serbia’s readiness to provide support to Ukraine and share its experiences gained in the European integration process.
After the one-to-one meeting, Prime Minister Macut hosted a working lunch in honour of President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky, during which the talks continued in an expanded format.
