Minister of Foreign Affairs Marko Đurić spoke today with Amos Hochstein, special advisor for global infrastructure, energy security and investments of the US President Joseph Biden.
Đurić pointed out that our two distant countries are united by intense political dialogue, economic cooperation and the closeness of our peoples.
The Minister pointed out that one of the pillars of strengthening economic relations is the strengthening of cooperation in the field of energy, especially if one takes into account the increasingly pronounced need for diversification of energy supply sources.
He emphasized that Serbia wants to strengthen its energy independence, noting that additional investments in energy infrastructure, but also in faster and more efficient development of capacities based on renewable energy sources, are becoming one of the basic priorities of every country, especially in the current circumstances of global energy crises.
The head of Serbian diplomacy assessed that the number of American companies in Serbia, especially in the field of services, is continuously growing, but that the presence of the Serbian economy in the USA is also growing.
In this regard, Đurić emphasized the determination of our country to develop and modernize its energy sector, as well as to cooperate with all relevant factors on the regional, European and international levels.
