Serbian Minister of Capital Investment Velimir Ilic said today in Ub that the construction of houses for six most affected households in that municipality will begin on Monday, and that 14 houses will soon be constructed in Vladimirci, which were demolished by floods and landslides.
Ilic said that the most affected families should be able to move into their new houses within 90 days. He stressed that local authorities should respect construction deadlines.
According to Ilic, construction works will be carried out by construction company “Gradjevinar” from Ub, and in this process it will be necessary to do permanent reinforcement work on all landslide sites and secure river banks from floods with the aim to prevent needless expenditures every year.
Ilic said that a sum of nearly 2.5 million dinars is needed for repairing damage done to roads from landslides in that area. He added that soon the Ub-Obrenovac road will be reconstructed and the rivers Sava and Tamnava will be regulated.
He recalled that in accordance with the decision of the Serbian government, the municipality of Ub will be provided with funds worth 12.5 million dinars for landslide and flood damage relief work. The municipalities of Koceljeva and Osecina will receive 17 million and 25 million dinars respectively, while a sum of 5 million dinars will be given to the municipality of Vladimirci to help the victims of severe weather.
