Tanja Miscevic
Miscevic told today's issue of Politika daily that the European Commission, on the basis of talks with representatives of the state union and both member states, should draw up a proposal for EU's Council of Ministers, which should then approve the beginning of negotiations on visa relaxations.
She added that the approval should be expected in early autumn.
According to the results of talks previously conducted by representatives of the Macedonian government, such an agreement should allow for a more relaxed visa regime, specific for each country of the Western Balkans, Miscevic said.
She stressed that the first meeting will focus on bilateral agreements on readmission, the migratory policy, and the issues concerning visa regime and movement of foreign citizens.
According to Miskovic, at this moment it cannot be said with certainty to which groups of citizens the relaxations will apply, but they will surely include students, experts in various fields, members of the business community and public administration.
