Serbian Deputy Prime Minister Miroljub Labus has extended greetings today over holiday Pesach to the leadership and all members of the Jewish community in Serbia-Montenegro, with a hope that further democratisation of the country's society and approximation to the European union of peoples will also improve overall relations between people.
''I wish to all members of the Jewish community to spend Pesach, one of the greatest Jewish holidays, in peace and prosperity. I am convinced that further democratisation of our society and its approximation to the European union of peoples will also improve overall relations between people.
The Jewish community, with its traditional tolerant approach, gives a significant contribution to building a modern society we aspire to. These days, which are a testimony of your people's liberation from slavery, can serve us an inspiration to persevere in efforts to finally free ourselves from the heavy heritage of the recent past," reads the greeting of the Deputy Prime Minister.
