Serbian Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management Ivana Dulic-Markovic and President of the Vojvodina Executive Council Bojan Pajtic visited today Mosorin and the flooded weekend houses in Dukater on the River Tisa, promising to provide aid to the stricken areas.
Dulic-Markovic invited municipal and city authorities, as well as regional and state organs to cooperate in this matter, pointing out that for the time being, only weekend houses are endangered.
Pajtic said there is no reason for panic but a lot of care must be taken. Today in Mosorin, bags with sand were piled up to strengthen the defences on the banks of the Tisa. The same thing was done in Novi Sad last night, namely a 7.5 kilometre stretch along the Danube quay was enforced.
