Speaking to journalists late yesterday, Đurić said that there is a big struggle in New York going on and that President Vučić is having meetings with diplomats, is evaluating country by country and is looking at what can be done in the remaining 48 hours until the session.
It is certain that it will be a strong diplomatic activity. The pressure that we are facing, not only us, but also the countries that oppose the resolution, is enormous, he underlined.
According to his words, the state of Serbia today uses all the credibility it has and has built for decades through the Non-Aligned Movement, good cooperation and the principled policy for which we have become known.
He recalled that a month ago at the United Nations, it seemed that the resolution was a done deal, because no one expected that anyone would dare to oppose something that was designed as a political condemnation of Serbia and as creating a moral stigma that would be borne by current and future generations.
By fighting for our position, we are fighting for regional stability, for good interpersonal relations between peoples in our region, against division and quarrels, but also against hierarchy among the victims, the Minister emphasised.
The Serbian delegation will have dozens of meetings on Tuesday, Đurić announced and added that until the last moment, an intense constellation of moves on our part is expected, which aim to stop the opponents of our position in their intention to put this shameful mark on Serbia.
The Minister said that the Serbian delegation has a genuine, sincere desire to protect the country and the people from those stigmas in the long term, noting that, whatever the result of the vote, it will be recorded that a large part of humanity did not support the resolution.
