Prime Minister Miloš Vučević and Minister of Labour, Employment, Veteran and Social Affairs Nemanja Starović opened today the Gerontological Centre in Valjevo, which has the capacity to accommodate 100 users.
The Ministry of Labour, Employment, Veterans and Social Affairs allocated more than RSD 140 million for the complete equipping of the facility with equipment and furniture in 2023 and 2024.
The Valjevo Gerontology Centre is the first home for the elderly in the Kolubara District, and it was opened 15 years after the beginning of the preparatory works, which began thanks to a donation from the government of Japan.
This institution will employ 48 workers, and within it will be opened a Day Care Centre for the elderly, as well as a Shelter for the homeless.
