Prime Minister Professor Đuro Macut, MD, DSc, spoke today with Ambassador of the Kingdom of Spain to Serbia Juan José Sanz Aparicio about bilateral relations and deepening cooperation at all levels, primarily in the field of economics.
Prime Minister Macut assessed that relations between Serbia and Spain are marked by sincere friendship and are based on mutual respect and understanding.
The Prime Minister also emphasised that political relations between the two countries are at a high level, thanks to the intensity of political dialogue and mutual support in terms of important national interests.
The Prime Minister expressed his expectation that economic cooperation will be intensified in the coming period, thanks to the good political and strategic ties between Serbia and Spain.
Prime Minister Macut thanked Spain for its principled stance on non-recognition of the unilaterally declared independence of “Kosovo” and its active support in protecting Serbia’s state and national interests.
Ambassador Juan José Sanz Aparicio reiterated Spain’s support for Serbia’s European integration process and stated that there is potential for increased trade exchange.
The interlocutors agreed that it is necessary to continue cooperation in the fields of education, culture and science, in order to increase the number of student and artist exchanges, as well as joint projects.
