Serbian Deputy Prime Minister Miroljub Labus said today during the talks with Dutch Minister for European Affairs Atzo Nicolai that Serbia is ready to complete the technical part of negotiations on the Stabilisation and Association Agreement with the EU (SAA) in June this year.
Labus and Nicolai agreed that Serbia's first official contract with the EU would have big importance and would speed up the economic and institutional reforms in the country.
Nicolai conveyed the position of the Netherlands that the EU should keep the promise given to the Western Balkan countries, but these countries should also fulfil all criteria set by the EU and make a progress in reaching European standards.
He added that the Netherlands is ready to help Serbia get closer to the European family as soon as possible, but it advocates full realisation of all conditions, including the full cooperation with the Hague tribunal.
The Dutch Minister for European Affairs highlighted that the strengthening and mutual linking of democratic forces in Serbia is of great importance for successful accomplishment of all challenges Serbia is facing, and for stability of the entire region as well.

Labus and Nicolai also touched on the issue of Montenegro's referendum and the course of negotiations on the future status of Kosovo-Metohija.
