Speaking at a lecture entitled "The economy and privatisation in the process of transition in Serbia", which he held at the Faculty of Technical Sciences in Novi Sad, Bubalo said that SAA is of essential importance for Serbia because it clearly determines the country's future.
According to Bubalo, this agreement will enable Serbia to have access to Europe's accession funds, and the country's development and internal stability will become part of European interests, in which process the verification of the membership should be viewed as a political decision.
Bubalo announced that the Ministry of Economy will propose another four important laws and specified that these are the laws on cooperatives, entrepreneurs, equal regional development, and on foodstuffs exchange.
The Minister said that the March single-digit inflation of 0.3% gives a realistic hope that the annual growth in retail prices might remain at the planned single-digit level, i.e. at 9.3% by the end of 2006.
He recalled that in the first two months of the year a significant increase in industrial production was achieved, which could result in a 7% growth of GDP by the end of the year.
The lecture held by Minister Bubalo was aimed at familiarising the students with changes that take place in Serbia's economy, as well as presenting prospects to young people, future professionals, with a special accent on the creation of new jobs, transfer of new technologies and skills into the Serbian economy, first and foremost through the process of privatisation and foreign direct investment.
