The programme will include various activities and the central celebration will be held on July 10 in Belgrade. A monument to Nikola Tesla will also be put up in Belgrade.
A presentation of a book titled "Nikola Tesla", published by the Matica Srpska publishing house, will be held on July 11 in Novi Sad and at the same time in Belgrade's Kalemegdan park a theatrical and musical spectacle themed "Following Tesla's Thoughts" will take place.
The premiere of the opera "The Purple Door", a Serbian-American coproduction, is scheduled for July 9 in Belgrade's National Theatre.
A three-day scientific gathering, organised by the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts, will take place in October, and another 11 public scientific discussions are also planned to take place.
In the field of education, visual and literary competitions dealing with the life and work of Nikola Tesla will be held, as well as quizzes at which knowledge of the great scientist's work will be tested.
In the field of publishing, several publications and monographs on Nikola Tesla are planned to be issued, and numerous exhibitions will be organised. In addition, the exhibition of the Museum of Nikola Tesla themed "150 years from Tesla's birth - life and work" will not only be displayed in Belgrade, but in Zagreb, Rijeka, Osijek, Karlovac, Perth, Athens, Vienna and Vancouver as well.
The Nikola Tesla foundation will give awards to creators from the field of science and engineering and to young inventors.
