Construction of new houses in the village of Bogdanje starts
The cost of construction work amounts to approximately €35,000 per house, Ilic said, noting that the houses will span between 70 and 115 square metres. He explained that the size of the damaged houses and the number of family members will be the main parametres for granting new houses to affected families.
It is most important that citizens realise that they are not alone and that the government will help them in repairing the consequences of this natural disaster, Ilic said.
Ilic announced that works in the villages of Celije and Popovici will start soon, as well as in the areas of Brus, Valjevo and Kraljevo, which were also hit by the landslide.
Trstenik municipality president Radovan Radovic commended the Serbian government’s fast and resolute action as well as the solidarity of citizens who immediately helped those in peril.
One of Bogdanje citizens Veroljub Nikolic, whose house is completely demolished, said he is happy with the location of his new house and the way the authorities reacted.
