At today's session, the government of the Republic of Serbia adopted the Decision on a special public recognition by which the history teacher of the "Vladislav Ribnikar" Primary School from Belgrade Tatjana Stevanovic, as an expression of support and respect for the personal courage shown during the injury during teaching in the mass shooting on 3 May 2023, is awarded this special public recognition.

The initiative to award such recognition to teacher Tatjana Stevanovic was initiated by a group of teachers and students of Vladislav Ribnikar Primary School, for which more than 13,000 citizens' signatures were collected.
Members of the government adopted the Decree on the allocation and use of funds for the subsidisation of protected natural assets of national interest in 2024, for which RSD 500 million were provided, which is the largest amount that has been allocated for this purpose so far.
Protected areas are the most common way or tool used to implement nature protection and directly protect plant species, and habitat protection creates prerequisites for animal species protection and biodiversity preservation.
The decree was adopted in order to timely prevent human activities and activities that can lead to permanent impoverishment of biological, geological and landscape diversity, as well as disturbances with negative consequences in nature, which is one of the main goals of the Law on Nature Protection.
In previous years, the Ministry of Environmental Protection tried to increase the total area of the territory under protection and at the moment 99 areas enjoy protection at the national level.
