At today’s session, the Government of the Republic of Serbia adopted decisions on the number of state-funded students to be admitted to the first year of undergraduate and master’s professional study programmes, undergraduate and master’s academic studies, integrated academic studies and doctoral studies for the 2025/2026 academic year.

Government sets enrolment quotas for state faculties

The total number of students at all levels of university study whose education will be financed by the state is 28,977.
The government also adopted a conclusion allowing students who were granted the right to use accommodation and meal services in student dormitories under the call for applications for the 2024/2025 academic year to continue using these services at subsidised rates from 15 July to 20 August 2025.
This conclusion was adopted bearing in mind that classes and examinations at higher education institutions will take place during July and August 2025.
The cabinet also adopted the Decree repealing the Decree on Limiting the Prices of Basic Foodstuffs, as the grain and flour market has stabilised due to favourable weather conditions and an increase in the area of cultivated land.
The government adopted a conclusion approving the purchase of mercantile wheat from the 2025 harvest at a price of RSD 23 per kilogramme, excluding VAT, in accordance with available financial resources.
Also adopted was an amended Decree on the Mandatory Production and Trade of T-500 flour bread, which adjusts the price of this staple food due to increased production costs, particularly energy prices.
