The Government of the Republic of Serbia today formed a Commission for repair of damage caused by fires in several areas across Serbia in July this year and provided RSD 350 million to assist those affected.
At today’s session, the government adopted the Decision to form a Commission for repair of damage caused by fires in the Republic of Serbia whose task is to monitor the situation and direct activities both in the restoration of the consequences of the fires and in the prevention of possible damage from new fires.
The Commission’s task is also to collect and systematise data on damage in all sectors, to coordinate activities in the preparation of assistance and reconstruction programmes, to determine priorities, implementers, necessary equipment, work dynamics, the amount of necessary funds and all other necessary data in order to more efficiently eliminate and mitigate the consequences of the fires that struck Serbia in July 2025.
In carrying out the assigned tasks, the Commission will cooperate with all bodies, organisations and services of local government units affected by the fires, while it will be provided with expert and administrative and technical support by the Ministry of Public Investment, whose Minister is also the President of the Commission.
