Promotion of Serbian businessmen on American market

Belgrade/Washington, 3 February 2024

Minister of Economy Slobodan Cvetkovic spoke in Washington with US Deputy Assistant Secretary for Europe and Eurasia David de Falco about strengthening economic cooperation between the two countries and the need to significantly increase the level of investment in both directions in the following period.

Cvetkovic presented the plans of our country related to key economic projects and specifically referred to EXPO 2027 as an excellent opportunity for American companies to take part in that project.

He emphasised that Serbia is recognised as a country with the greatest potential for investment, a strong economy and willingness to participate competitively in the global market, and invited American businessmen to invest in our country.

The Ministry of Economy continues with support programmes for domestic and foreign investors. We are interested in actively participating in the promotion of Serbian businessmen on the American market. We will support our companies to participate in one of the largest fairs, Select USA, which will be held at the end of June in Washington, said the Minister.

De Falco pointed out that Serbia is definitely the economic hub of Southeast Europe and represents the engine of development of the entire region. He assessed that it is a unique opportunity to attract even more American investments, and added that the US administration will continue to encourage its companies to come to Serbia.

Cvetkovic and De Falco agreed that the basis of good relations is the commitment of President of the Republic of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic and Prime Minister Ana Brnabic to building political and economic relations with the USA and promoting Serbia as a country with an excellent business environment where American companies are welcome, reads a statement of the Ministry of Economy.
