Minister for Rural Care Milan Krkobabic said today, on the occasion of the announcement of public tenders for three programmes that the Ministry will implement this year, that this is the right way to quickly change the demographic picture of certain the ends of the earth.

15,000 people will get roof over their heads through rural house purchase programme

Krkobabic said that this year will be a record year because since the beginning of the implementation of the programme, 15,000 people will be moved into 3,000 abandoned rural houses.
Starting tomorrow, citizens will be able to apply for a competition for the purchase of rural houses with a garden.
Local self-governments can apply for the other two tenders – the awarding of grants for the purchase of minibuses for the transport of the rural population and for the organisation of the "Miholjski susreti sela" (Autumn Village Encounters) event.
RSD 670 million has been allocated from the Serbian budget for these purposes, half a billion of which is for rural houses, RSD 120 million for minibuses and RSD 50 million for rural events.
In the previous three years, 2,650 houses in villages throughout Serbia were moved in, giving 10,000 people a roof over their heads.
