Minister of Mining and Energy Dubravka Djedovic Handanovic said today that the Energy Community (EC) marked Serbia as a leader in the implementation of reforms in the previous year, mostly thanks to progress in the area of decarbonisation and reforms carried out in the energy sector.

Djedovic Handanovic explained that, according to the Annual Report of the Energy Community, Serbia was rated as a leading country in the energy transition.
She reminded that the largest auctions organized at once for the allocation of market premiums for RES were successfully conducted, which was not achieved even by some large European countries this year.
In the reporting period, which includes the period from November 2022 to October 2023, Serbia achieved the greatest progress in decarbonization thanks to the adoption of amendments to the Law on the Use of Renewable Energy Sources, the implementation of the first auctions for market premiums and the drafting of the Integrated Plan on Energy and Climate.
Serbia's average score of 63% in the five areas monitored by the Report (market and integration, decarbonisation of the energy sector, energy security, environmental improvement and government performance) is significantly above the average of all contracting parties of the Energy Community, which is 53%.
