Serbian Minister of International Economic Relations Milan Parivodic said today that there is great interest among French businesspeople to invest in Serbia, noting that the economic process is obviously separated from the political one.

Parivodic told FoNet news agency that one gets the impression that businesspeople are not politically influenced and that investors are aware that political issues which ahead of us will not affect the safety of their investments, which is why the interest is very large.
He recalled that the state-union delegation is in Paris on the occasion of a large investment conference for Serbia-Montenegro.
According to Parivodic, 250 French businesspeople are attending the conference and it is obvious that there has been a radical change concerning their interest. He said that the climate has improved as interest is now ten times greater than a year ago. Businesspeople are showing recognition of reforms that are being implemented in Serbia, he said.
Parivodic said that he has spoken with representatives of several major companies, including Alcatel, and added that during his visit to Paris he will also meet with French Minister of International Trade Christine Lagard.
