Dacic said that it is an extraordinary honour and pleasure for him to have the opportunity to speak today, on behalf of the Republic of Serbia, on the occasion of the official opening of the Consulate of the Republic of Serbia in Pale, with the consular area that will include the territory of the municipality of Pale, headed by the honorary consul, Mr. Dejan Ljevnaic.
On this occasion, I would like to emphasise that the Republic of Serbia pays great attention to the improvement of regional cooperation and the cultivation of good neighbourly relations, the Minister pointed out and reiterated that the stability of the region and the development of all-round cooperation with our closest neighbours are our permanent foreign policy priority.
According to him, we see Bosnia and Herzegovina as a natural and close partner, with whom we want to work on greater mutual understanding, respect and building full trust and cooperation.
That is why the stability and prosperity of Bosnia and Herzegovina is important to us. And on this occasion, I emphasise that the Republic of Serbia respects the Dayton Agreement and supports Bosnia and Herzegovina as one state with two entities, as well as all decisions made in accordance with the competences and agreement of the three constituent nations – Serbs, Bosniaks and Croats, Dacic pointed out.
He pointed out that Bosnia and Herzegovina, and especially Republika Srpska, is home to a large number of Serbs.
Their better future is one of the reasons why the Republic of Serbia is firmly committed to all-round cooperation with Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as with its entities. We pay special attention to the planning and implementation of joint projects, through which we build a realistic perspective for a better future, Dacic said.
