Opening the 18th International Energy Fair and the 19th International Environmental Protection Fair, Djedovic Handanovic pointed out that there is an inseparable connection between energy and environmental protection.
According to her, with discounts and education, we managed to motivate citizens to use energy more rationally and reduce their bills, we have supported 20,000 citizens with subsidies for energy efficiency so far, and we plan to include another 50,000 in the next five years.
She also referred to the Electric Power Industry of Serbia (EPS), pointing out that it is much more stable than a year ago, production is secure, whereas landfills and reservoirs are full.
The Minister added that the revitalization of the Djerdap I Hydroelectric Power Station has been completed and the works on the construction of the third unit at the Kostolac thermal power plant are nearing completion, which will be the largest power production facility built in Serbia in the last 30 years.
She also said that the final works on the Serbia-Bulgaria gas interconnection are underway, which will be put into trial operation in the coming days, and we have also signed a contract on the supply of gas from Azerbaijan.
