First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivica Dacic met today with UK Prime Minister’s Special Envoy to the Western Balkans Stuart Peach.
In the meeting, it was mutually assessed that the bilateral relations between the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland and the Republic of Serbia are good, with special reference to their long tradition, and it was stated that there is additional room for improving cooperation.
Opinions were exchanged about the situation in Kosovo and Metohija and the situation in the region.
The British official said that his country provides full support to the KFOR mission in accordance with UN Security Council Resolution 1244.
It was established that international organizations have an important mediating role in crisis situations, among which the activities of the UN stand out due to the scope of their work and global influence and importance.
The upcoming ministerial meeting of the OSCE in Skopje on 30 November and 1 December was also discussed, emphasising the importance of the role of the Republic of Serbia in this organisation, according to the statement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
