First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivica Dacic talked today, on the margins of the 42nd session of the UNESCO General Conference in Paris, with UNESCO Director-General Audrey Azoulay about the preservation of Serbia’s cultural heritage and the deepening of cooperation.

Cooperation of Serbia with UNESCO on upward trend

Dacic underlined that UNESCO is of exceptional importance for Serbia, especially from the perspective of protection of cultural heritage in Kosovo and Metohija.
The head of Serbian diplomacy informed his interlocutor about the course of Belgrade-Pristina dialogue, pointing to the attempts at rewriting history.
He also highlighted full support to the activities of UNESCO and invited the Director-General of this organisation to visit Serbia one more time before the end of her mandate.
Azoulay said that Serbia’s cooperation with UNESCO is showing an upward trend.
The role of Serbia, whose chairmanship of the UNESCO Executive Board ends during this 42nd General Conference, has been very important and positive, Azoulay assessed.
