First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivica Dacic met today with Special Envoy of the French Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs for the Western Balkans René Troccaz and on this occasion highlighted the importance of the good overall relations and strategic partnership between the two countries.

Dacic emphasised Serbia's commitment to good-neighbourly cooperation in the region and readiness to discuss all issues in an open and constructive manner.
When it comes to the situation in the north of Kosovo and Metohija, he pointed out that the priority should be the de-escalation of tensions, primarily in order to protect the rights of the Serb population, as well as the necessity of full implementation of the Brussels Agreement and the formation of the Community of Serb Municipalities.
Troccaz informed Dacic about the nature of his mission, pointing out that, when it comes to the north of Kosovo and Metohija, the primary goal is the stabilisation of the situation and the normalisation of relations.
The Special Envoy for the Western Balkans reiterated France's support for the European integration process of Serbia and the region.
