Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Culture Maja Gojkovic and Hungarian Minister of Culture and Innovation János Csák today, during a meeting in Budapest, emphasised the mutual interest of the two countries in improving cooperation in the field of culture, in accordance with extremely good and friendly relations between the two countries.

Gojkovic and Csák attended the signing of the Memorandum on cooperation between ethnographic museums of Serbia and Hungary, which confirms the great importance and interest in expanding cooperation in the field of cultural heritage.
The Memorandum of Cooperation, signed by Director of the Ethnographic Museum of Serbia Marko Krstic and Deputy General Director of the Ethnographic Museum of Hungary Gábor Veres, foresees the establishment of favourable conditions for the further development of cooperation in the areas of protection, preservation and promotion of ethnological, anthropological and intangible cultural heritage, as well as encouraging exchanges of knowledge, information and experts in the field of preservation and protection.
Gojkovic and Csák assessed that this document is of strategic importance, starting from a clear recognition of the value of nurturing cultural heritage, as well as the prominent role of ethnographic museums in the culture of both countries.
The officials agreed on the next steps in improving cooperation and joint work on numerous projects, both between cultural institutions, which would involve the exchange of experiences and exhibitions, as well as in the field of the film industry and the promotion of important topics from the common history.
