The topic of the meeting was also the role of the European Union's assistance to Serbia in accelerating and improving the integration of Roma.
Zigmanov expressed his gratitude to the representatives of the EU for their continuous support to the government of Serbia in the work on the programmes for integration of Roma men and women.
The main topic of the meeting was Roma inclusion measures in the process of drafting planning documents and programming measures within the framework of pre-accession funds, primarily those related to the areas of education and employment, but also the energy and environmental protection sectors.
Miscevic pointed out that there is a political will in Serbia to work on the integration of Roma and that our country wants to be an example to other countries in the region when it comes to this topic, but also to learn from the examples of good practice of EU member states.
She pointed out that our country is open to include measures and projects in the programming process that can contribute to achieving the best possible results.
At the meeting, an agreement was reached on the need for further support for improving the position of the Roma community in Serbia through the financing of projects aimed at improving education, employment, and social housing.
The meeting in the government of Serbia was attended by Head of the Cooperation Department of the EU Delegation to Serbia Nicola Bartolini and Director of the Open Society Roma Initiative Zeljko Jovanovic.
