Minister for European Integration Tanja Miscevic today visited the first village kindergarten in the village of Karan near Uzice, which was renovated with the support of the European Union, which about fifty children will soon attend.
With grants from the European Union, in the amount of approximately €180,000 provided through the EU PRO plus programme, and a significant participation of the City of Uzice, in the amount of over €200,000, this facility in Karan was adapted and expanded, which now has an equipped kitchen with a dining room, two work rooms for children of different ages, as well as a room for educators.
Miscevic pointed out that the first rural kindergarten in the territory of Uzice is very important for the community, and that through good projects coming from Uzice, with the support of the European Union, the government of Serbia and the Ministry of European Integration, as well as the City's budget, €1.7 million for the renovation of health and educational institutions.
Head of the Delegation of the European Union in Serbia Emanuele Giaufret said that this is just one of the many projects that we support through the EU PRO plus program together with the City of Uzice, with which we also successfully implement projects for cross-border cooperation.
