Minister of Domestic and Foreign Trade Tomislav Momirovic said today in Tirana that, despite frequent obstructions, Serbia continues its efforts to deepen regional integration and economic cooperation.
Momirovic, speaking at the Meeting of Ministers of Economy of the Berlin Process warned that the tragic events that took place in the previous days testify to what kind of future awaits us if mechanisms are not built so that all ethnic communities can participate in public and economic life, as well as having self-governance as already agreed upon in the Brussels Agreement.
He emphasized that regional cooperation is extremely important for Serbia, and this is shown by the fact that in the first seven months of this year alone, our country achieved a surplus of €1.7 billion in trade with the countries of the region.
Our goal is to speed up the process of accession to the European Union and thus further improve the quality of life of our citizens, Momirovic said, noting that limiting economic freedoms, especially in mutual trade, which we are unfortunately witnessing today, is a very dangerous path.
The Meeting of Ministers of Economy of the Berlin Process was preceded by the Business Forum, dedicated to the presentation of the main achievements and activities aimed at establishing a single EU market.
