Prime Minister Ana Brnabic stated today that the price reduction of basic foodstuffs and household items in the "Better Price" campaign represents the state's struggle to reduce inflation and improve the standard of citizens.
Brnabic, as a guest on "Happy" Television, said that this action will continue, and noted that for now there are about 40 products whose prices have been reduced and are being sold under the label "Better price".
According to her, trade chains that hold more than 80 percent of our market have joined this action, and negotiations will be conducted with those traders who have not yet joined to do so.
She explained that retailers have lowered margins on products that are sold at discounted prices.
We are fighting for a better standard of citizens by increasing salaries and pensions, as well as by increasing the minimum wage, which will be higher by a record 17.8 percent and amount to €402 from 1 January, the Prime Minister emphasized.
Brnabic underlined as particularly important that salaries and pensions are increasing more than inflation, so the growth of these incomes will be not only nominal, but also real.
