In a statement to the news agency Beta, following a meeting with Director General of the European Commission’s Justice and Home Affairs Department Jonathan Faull, Vuksanovic said that it has been agreed that negotiations on the liberalisation of the visa regime will begin in April this year instead of January next year.
He said that he insisted in Brussels that young people from Serbia must get to know life in the EU, and added that it is a very discouraging fact that 70% of Serbian students have never set foot outside the borders of their country.
According to Vuksanovic, the ministries of foreign and interior affairs will have the most important role to play in negotiations on the liberalisation of the visa regime.
